Know your path

The amazing thing about life is that opportunities are available for you to become anything you choose. By the time you reach adulthood, hopefully you had the chance to examine yourself and really determine who you are. This is important because knowledge of self could help you make choices that will align you with your passions. As you know, you do not need to have a career or life pursuit that is solely passion driven, because sometimes our passions do not advance us in life financially the way we wish, but the question is, could you truly be happy if you were not doing what makes you happy? One thing about being in your middle ages is that you probably already began a deep dive into self awareness, and by now you have an idea of who you are. But here lies the problem, sometimes when you finally figure out who you are and what makes you happy, you realize that you are no where near the path that you should be on. Your choices may have led you into a career that doesn’t bring your fullness into light. You now think about all of the responsibilities that you have and you cannot seem to find a way to connect the two. What do you do then?

My advice is to know your path. What I mean by this is, you need to know what steps are best for you to take. Your path is a road that you have to travel alone. You have to be able to know what aligns with who you are; your character, personality, and what you are capable of doing such as your skills and talents. It is possible that asking those closest to you for their opinions could be beneficial, but overall your path is only one that you could deeply know. Once you understand this, then you will start to make decisions that will place you in alignment with who you truly are. You may have to start small by scheduling small doses of time to indulge in your passions, but the more you practice your passion, the more you have the chance to see where this effort would take you. Wouldn’t it be grand if you were able to live your passion, or the very least find happiness?
